Garden pest control

Protecting the gardens that define the Hamptons

Seasonal care for estate gardens, boxwood parterres, hydrangeas, privet hedges, orchards, lawns and kitchen gardens.

A well-kept East End garden is years in the making — and a single season of boxwood moth, Japanese beetles or grubs can set it back. Our garden pest programs are built for landscaped estates, formal plantings, vegetable and kitchen gardens, orchards and the privet hedges the Hamptons are known for.

We identify what's actually affecting your plants, time treatments to each pest's life cycle, and choose plant-appropriate, family- and pet-conscious options wherever possible.

We work alongside your team

We coordinate with landscapers, gardeners and estate managers — sharing schedules and observations so pest care fits the rest of your property's maintenance.

Common East End garden pests

What we treat in the garden

Deer ticks in garden borders

Mulched borders, ground covers and stone walls hold humidity that ticks love. Border treatments and leaf-litter control reduce exposure while you garden.

Aphids

Clusters on new growth of roses, viburnum and vegetables cause curling leaves and sticky honeydew. We monitor and treat with targeted, plant-appropriate products.

Japanese beetles

Metallic beetles skeletonize roses, linden, grapes and birch in early summer. Adult treatments are paired with lawn grub control to reduce next year's population.

Grubs (lawn damage)

White grubs feed on turf roots, causing brown patches that lift like carpet — and attract skunks and raccoons that dig. Preventive and curative grub programs protect the lawn.

Boxwood pests: leafminer & box tree moth

Boxwood leafminer causes blistered, yellowing leaves; box tree moth caterpillars can defoliate hedges quickly. We monitor through spring and treat at the right life stage.

Hydrangea & rose pests

Rose slugs, thrips, Japanese beetles, four-lined plant bugs and leaf spot pressures can mar signature plantings. We build a schedule around bloom time.

Spider mites

Hot, dry summers bring stippled, bronzed foliage on evergreens, arborvitae and annuals. Early detection and targeted treatments keep outbreaks in check.

Scale insects

Armored and soft scales on euonymus, holly, magnolia and fruit trees weaken plants slowly. Dormant-season and crawler-stage treatments are most effective.

Slugs & snails

Damp coastal nights mean ragged holes in hostas, lettuces and seedlings. We combine habitat changes with targeted baits placed with pets in mind.

Caterpillars & spongy (gypsy) moth

Spongy moth, tent caterpillars and others can strip oaks and ornamentals in spring. Egg-mass monitoring and timed treatments protect specimen trees.

Voles

Voles tunnel at the surface and girdle shrubs, bulbs and young trees, often under snow. We use exclusion, habitat reduction and targeted control.

Moles

Raised tunnels and mounds disrupt manicured lawns. We address moles directly and reduce the grubs and worms that draw them in.

Deer & rabbit deterrence

Deer browse hydrangeas, hostas and arborvitae; rabbits clip tender shoots. Rotating repellent programs and exclusion advice help protect plantings.
